Student Chapters

AAPS student chapters provide an opportunity for future researchers to learn about the pharmaceutical sciences, discuss career options, build their professional network, and acquire leadership skills in a safe environment. The student leaders in the chapters help bring professionals from academia, industry and government regulatory agencies to the chapter to share their expert knowledge, they organize pharmaceutical conferences to exchange knowledge and boost scientific cooperation, they provide graduate students with an opportunity to network with others. AAPS recognizes chapters at more than 100 higher education institutions around the world.

Chapter Stipend

The chapter stipend is to be used on any activity that benefits the chapter as a whole. It cannot be used for membership dues, event registrations, or any other fee that benefits the individual.

Visiting Scientists/AAPS Ambassadors

Gain first-hand knowledge of cutting edge issues in the pharmaceutical sciences, and obtain practical career-building advice with our visiting scientist program. Visiting Scientists are AAPS scientists who are matched with schools that are looking for a speaker.

If you’re interested, contact us to request a visit. After the request is submitted, AAPS staff will assist you with finding a match. Once a match is offered, you will work directly with the scientist to plan his or her visit. The program is unfunded, though AAPS Student Chapters may use stipend funding to support a visit.

AAPS also welcomes hearing from scientists who would like to serve in a Visiting Scientist/Ambassador role.

Did your chapter have an awesome year, meet your chapter goals and energize members with memorable activities? Now is your chance to brag!

The AAPS Student Chapter award recognizes student chapters that have provided exceptional service and outreach throughout the year.

Monetary awards are given to the top three award winners to be used to support programming for the chapter.

Applications are due May 15, 2019.

Keep in mind, AAPS is not able to accept late applications, so please set a reminder to yourself for this important deadline. Further information regarding eligibility requirements can be found in the AAPS Awards Guide on our Awards page.
