AAPS is seeking dedicated AAPS members to serve on our Awards Committee!
The AAPS Awards Committee oversees the AAPS Awards Program that brings attention to, and celebrates, impactful science, as well as the scientists who serve as role models in the pharmaceutical science community.
Available Positions
AAPS is seeking applications for three member positions and one vice chair position to serve on the Awards Committee from February 2019 – November 2019.
Qualifications & Duties
- Be an AAPS member in good standing at the time of application, and throughout service period
- Able to commit to a two-year term on the Awards Committee as a member, or three-year term as an officer (Vice Chair, Chair, Past Chair)
- Interest in contributing to the selection of AAPS Award recipients
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to respect other committee members and their opinions
- Ability to act impartially and diligently
- Time: Awards members spend an average of 2+ hours per week during the review period between May and June. Members commit to:
- Participating in monthly conference calls
- Reviewing nominees’ award submissions through a web-based reviewing platform
- Sharing insight and making recommendations with the other committee members on nominations
Awards Committee members may submit self-nominations for the vice chair position while serving on this committee. Vice chair applicants must be currently employed in the pharmaceutical sciences at a senior level (Ex: Director or Associate Professor).
