This webinar presentation will delve into the role played by the NIH Fogarty International Center in supporting research on global health in countries with low- and middle-income economies. For over 50 years, Fogarty has been actively involved in laying the foundation to adapt to the evolving world. This has been achieved through essential investments in the scientific workforce, establishing global research networks capable of swift response, utilizing new tools and research methodologies, and addressing emerging global challenges such as pandemics, climate change, and social injustice. Furthermore, Fogarty serves as the central hub for international affairs within the NIH. The Strategic Plan of Fogarty aims to advance the global health research agenda by leveraging past achievements and ongoing investments, while effectively addressing the transformed landscape of global health.
