Thank you to everyone who attended our meeting last Wednesday. Please find below a summary of our discussions and key decisions:
1. Leadership Updates
- The Temporary Leadership Team for 2026 was introduced, including Chair (Ines Santos), Vice-Chair (Shivangi Awasthi), Past Chair (Julia Sable), Secretary (Grace Morgan).
- Online Discussion Leaders and Educational Leaders roles are open. Please email me if you are interested in volunteering.
2. 2025 Event Summary

Career Development Workshop at PharmSci360 with Caroline Sangal, Ph.D, November 10, 2025 (10:30-11:30am).

"Navigating Career Transitions" webinar with Caroline Sangal, Ph.D., April 23, 2025.

"Women in AI" panel event, May 21, 2025, featuring leaders from BioData Solutions, Simulations Plus, and Alchemi Bio.

In-person meetups for early career bioanalysis scientists were held in NJ (Summer/Fall 2025) and Cambridge, MA (Fall 2025). These events aim to foster mentor-mentee relationships and spark new career development ideas. Special thanks to mentors Vibha Jawa, Binodh De Silva, Renuka Pillutla, and Seema Kumar.
3. 2026 Topic Team Focus Areas
- Strategies to advance female representation in senior scientific and executive roles
- Navigating barriers such as the glass ceiling and bias
- Facilitating cross-discipline and industry networks
- Support structures for women balancing caregiving and career
- Addressing burnout and work-life balance
- Sessions on communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution
- Preparing women for non-traditional roles (entrepreneurship, regulatory affairs)
- Women's health issues in pharma R&D
- Advocacy for gender-sensitive clinical trials and global access to medicine
