I would like to give you an update on a few important items that we discussed at our last monthly meeting on Feb. 10, 2023.
· Webinar
o Please note on your calendar that GHC will organize a webinar in collaboration with RS community in the area of cell therapy. This presentation will be by Dr. Sandro Matosevik (https://www.ipph.purdue.edu/faculty/smatosev), on March 16, 2023. Details of the webinar will be communicated shortly.
· Call for Vice Chair
o Please submit your nomination (self-nomination is encouraged) for the Vice Chair for Global Health Community. Please note that leadership team members must be AAPS members, in good standing. We have to conduct an election if we have more than one nomination. Nominations should be submitted to the immediate past chair, Dr. Joleen White ([email protected]).
· Newsmagazine item
o We decided to compile a brief article on global health and rare diseases. Dr. Steve Byrn, Dr. Kieran Crowley and Dr. Sudip Das have agreed to contribute. Since rare diseases day is February 28, 2023, the AAPS liaison for the Newsmagazine would like to have the manuscript ASAP. We have a short turnaround time but would appreciate if any student or postdoc fellow is interested to contribute. Please let me know, if you are interested
