It depends on the molecule. Many cryovials for -70 are glass, but molecule adsorption (especially with proteins) is a concern. With polypropylene the long term performance of the vials in very low temperatures is of concern, so it is worth thinking about the lifespan of your primary material until replacement.

We are evaluating options for selecting containers to store primary reference standard material for a large molecule product with will be stored at -70°C. I have used polypropylene cryovials in the past, but am curious if there are any other suitable options.
