We are evaluating options for selecting containers to store primary reference standard material for a large molecule product with will be stored at -70°C.  I have used polypropylene cryovials in the past, but am curious if there are any other suitable options.

It depends on the molecule. Many cryovials for -70 are glass, but molecule adsorption (especially with proteins) is a concern. With polypropylene the long term performance of the vials in very low temperatures is of concern, so it is worth thinking about the lifespan of your primary material until replacement.
