"Right now, manufacturing experts from the 1950s would easily recognize the pharmaceutical manufacturing processes of today. It is predicted that manufacturing will change in the next 25 years as current manufacturing practices are abandoned in favor of cleaner, flexible, more efficient continuous manufacturing."
-Dr. Janet Woodcock, AAPS Annual meeting, October 2011
We recognize the importance of streamlined processing, compact equipment, and real-time monitoring and control to enhance the product quality. An equally significant segment is to understand the importance of material properties, controlling process parameters, etc.
Amidst the wealth of literature on Manufacturing Science and Engineering (MSE), we wanted to highlight one particular article. This article sheds light on how mixing settings, material densities, and drug quantities affect the process parameters in continuous manufacturing line tablet production.
