The ICS community group (subgroup of Bioanalytical) had a great presentation from Dr. Matt Blatnik (Assoc Director, AbbVie). Matt stepped us through latest advances in patient centric sampling (PCS) using dried matrix microsampling. After a review of PCS opportunities and options for blood microsampling, Matt stepped us through a practical example measuring endogenous branched chain amino acids (BCAA) and branched chain keto acids (BCKA) in human blood. Using the surrogate analyte approach, comparing DBS and VAMS (Mitra and Tasso) the application using these microsampling strategies was thoroughly covered. A robust discussion followed with a great Q&A.
Matt's presentation is attached for further review.
We look forward to our next ICS meeting in January 2026 with more details to follow.
