Presenter: Phil Green, President, Chesapeake Pharma LLC
Date/Time: 22 October/ 12PM (EST), 9AM (PST)
Subcutaneous (SC) administered pharmaceuticals offer several potential advantages over intravenous (IV) agents. A growing pipeline of diverse high-dose, injectable drugs typically requires the administration of large injection volumes >2mL. This volume is at the limit of conventional handheld injection devices and is driving the development of novel, user-friendly large volume SC delivery systems. This presentation will outline the characteristics and dosing requirements of future pipeline large-volume SC agents (LVSCs) and showcase innovative device approaches to facilitate the transition from IV to SC for both healthcare professionals (HCPs) and self-administration.
Key Topics to be discussed include:
- An up-to-date overview of the approved & pipeline LVSCs
- An exploration of the reasons behind the increase in high-dose/large-volume injectable drugs
- An overview of approved and development-stage delivery technology to meet the needs
- Remaining barriers to IV to SC switching along with key questions, and thoughts on the future of LVSCs
The webinar will be followed by a Q&A session. If you are currently working with LVSCs or have relevant experience in this area, we encourage you to join us and contribute to the discussion and exchange of information.
