  • 1.  Call for 2025 NBC Scientific Programming Proposals

    Posted 09-18-2024 15:46

The National Biotechnology Conference (NBC) Scientific Programming Committee invites proposals for scientific symposia, hot topics, and Rapid Fires to be presented at the National Biotechnology Conference (NBC), taking place May 4-7, 2025, in Boston, MA.

Submit your scientific programming proposal is September 26, 5pm ET by September 26, 5pm ET.

All proposals must relate directly to one of the two tracks and their themes as described below.

Track 1: Inspiring Innovation in Formulation, Bioprocessing and Drug Delivery

This track explores the latest advances and challenges in biologics formulation and delivery, covering multispecific antibodies, ADCs, peptides, vaccines, nanomedicines, and cell and gene therapies. Sessions should discuss how novel technologies enhance bioprocessing, characterization, delivery, and production efficiency, and highlight patient-centric innovations like point-of-care diagnostics and personalized medicine. The track also emphasizes the role of AI and machine learning in improving formulation, bioprocessing, and personalization of biologic therapies to enhance patient outcomes and compliance.

Theme 1: Accelerating Novel Formulation Development of Biologics for Newer and Established Modalities

This theme explores the latest advances in formulation and delivery of complex biologics via novel dosage forms, lipid nanocarriers, 3D-printed systems, and targeted RNA approaches in addition to traditional modalities.

Theme 2: Bioprocessing, Characterization & Comparability for Complex Biologics

This theme showcases enhancements to bioprocessing processes, including media optimization, clone selection and most importantly predicting process parameters through the implementation of computation models, AI, ML, and smart DoEs.

Theme 3: Patient-Centric Product Design and Precision Medicine

This theme examines how advances in patient-centric technologies, point-of-care, and diagnostic testing can increase both therapeutic effectiveness and patient compliance, such as improved drug delivery using combination devices.

Track 2: From Bench to Bedside: Bioanalysis and Translational Science

Submissions are invited on topics related to innovative bioanalytical approaches for newer modalities, including protein degraders, oligonucleotides, siRNA, LNP-mRNA/DNA, AAVs, cell therapies, peptides, antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs), and other biologics.

Theme 1: Breaking Barriers: Bioanalytical Innovation for Complex Biologics

This theme explores bioanalytical space surrounding newer modalities, with a focus on lipid nanoparticles (LNP), nanoliposomes, mRNA, siRNA, protein degraders, and gene therapeutics.

Theme 2: Managing Global Clinical Trials and Crises in Sample Logistics

This theme invites submissions on global clinical trial management, AI applications, regulatory requirements, and how to comply with evolving guidelines to streamline patient sampling and analysis processes.

Theme 3: Preclinical and Clinical PK/PD, Safety Translation of Newer Modalities

This theme features ADME, PK/PD, clinical pharmacology, biomarkers, safety, and additional challenges in developing newer modalities such as protein degraders, oligonucleotides, siRNA, LNP-mRNA/DNA, AAVs, gene/cell therapies, peptides, and ADCs.
