    Hello PDPD Community Members!

Applications are currently open for anyone who would like to be a leader for AAPS Communities. For the upcoming 2025 year, the PDPD Community is in need of a Vice Chair to help with various tasks, including such things as leading meetings with the PDPD Leadership Team, identifying webinar speakers to facilitate discussions with PDPD Community Members, collaborate with other AAPS Community Leadership Teams, attend AAPS-led meetings, among other tasks.

If you are interested in applying for the Vice Chair role, please see below for additional information. If you would like to know more about what being a Vice Chair entails, please feel free to reach out to me (Bo Tokarski, contact info below) and Vice Chair Sudip Das ([email protected]) and we will be happy to discuss this opportunity with you.

Submit your application by July 31, 2024, 5pm ET.

One of the most critical volunteer positions in AAPS is chair of an AAPS Community Chair. Members depend on these leaders to drive professional interactions, networking, and educational growth in their community.

AAPS Community Chairs are able to expand their networks and polish their leadership skills while helping to develop scientific programming for the members of their community.

To become an AAPS Community Chair, members must volunteer for a three-year term. Appointees serve as the Community Vice Chair in the first year, Chair in the second year, and Immediate Past Chair in the final year.

To qualify for consideration, you must:

    • Be a member of AAPS at the time of application and throughout service
    • Have 3-5 hours per month to serve, including:
      • Lead the community's monthly leadership meeting
      • Attend the monthly AAPS Community Forum
      • Develop programming for the community
    • Have experience posting in the AAPS Communities
    • Have read the AAPS Community Chairs Guide (PDF)

    AAPS prefers applicants that have:

    • Experience chairing a committee
    • Past volunteer experience in AAPS programming, such as developing a symposium, presenting a poster, submitting an article to AAPS Newsmagazine, leading an Ask the Experts session, etc.
    • A mature network in the scientific community
    • 5+ years in their scientific profession
    • Topical knowledge related to the community's scope

Applicants will be notified about their application status at the end of September 2024.
