    I am pleased to announce that Professor Chad A. Mirkin, Northwestern University has been selected as the (ACS) Gibbs Medal Awardee for 2025.
    Professor Mirkin has been given the good news. A medal will be presented to him on Friday, May 16, 2025, in a public ceremony in Chicago area. Professor Mirkin is Ok with the date. Please join us on May 16, 2025, as we celebrate Professor Mirkin for his achievements and for winning this prestigious award. We will send more details about the ceremony soon.

    Here is a Brief Professional Biography of Professor Mirkin:
     
    Chad A. Mirkin, PhD is the Director of the International Institute for Nanotechnology and the George B. Rathmann Prof. of Chemistry, Prof. of Chemical and Biological Engineering, Prof. of Biomedical Engineering, Prof. of Materials Science & Engineering, and Prof. of Medicine at Northwestern University. He is a chemist and a world-renowned nanoscience expert, who is known for his discovery and development of spherical nucleic acids (SNAs) and SNA-based biodetection and therapeutic schemes, the invention of Dip-Pen Nanolithography (DPN) and related cantilever-free nanopatterning and materials discovery methodologies, On-Wire Lithography (OWL), Co-Axial Lithography (COAL), and contributions to supramolecular chemistry via the Weak Link Approach (WLA), additive manufacturing via the invention of high-area rapid printing (HARP), and nanoparticle synthesis. He is the author of over 890 manuscripts and over 1,200 patent applications worldwide (over 430 issued), and the founder of 10 companies, including Nanosphere, TERA-print, Azul 3D, MattIQ, and Flashpoint Therapeutics. He has given over 930 invited lectures and educated over 340 graduate students and postdoctoral fellows, of whom over 140 are now faculty members at top institutions around the world, including Harvard and MIT.
