Mojisola Christianah Adeyeye, Ph.D., of the Nigerian Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, discusses a project to grow the local pharmaceutical industry in R&D and manufacturing of finished pharmaceutical products, APIs, and excipients. This is in response to concerns about the supply of generic drugs to African countries.
This project includes strengthening the framework of National Regulatory Authorities in Africa in various areas such as GMP, market authorization, regulatory inspection, market control, laboratory testing, and pharmacovigilance.
