  • Open Scientific Discussion

Sterile Products Community (SPC)  is excited to host an open scientific discussion on the topic of "Developing Patient-Centric High Concentration Biologics: Learnings from the Commercial Landscape". Dr. Hiten Gutka, Senior Principal Scientist at Bristol Myers Squibb and the current chair of SPC, will present trends in formulation composition and QTPPs of US FDA-approved and marketed high concentration antibody products (HCAPs) that are  ≥100 mg/mL. Further, publicly-known novel formulation and processing technologies that enable the development of improved HCAPs at ≥200 mg/mL will also be discussed. The observed trends can be used as a guide for further advancements in the development of HCAPs as more complex antibody-based modalities enter biologics product development.

  • Application process is now open for Community Vice Chairs

Volunteer to Lead an AAPS Community!

Application Deadline: July 31, 5pm ET

One of the most critical AAPS volunteer positions is chair of an AAPS Community. Members depend on these leaders to drive professional interactions, networking, and educational growth in their community.

AAPS Community Chairs can use this opportunity to expand their networks and polish their leadership skills while helping to develop scientific programming for the members of their community.

To become an AAPS Community Chair, members must volunteer for a three-year term. Appointees serve as the Community Vice Chair in the first year, Chair in the second year, and Immediate Past Chair in the final year.

To qualify for consideration, prospective volunteers must:

    • Be a member of AAPS at the time of application and throughout service
    • Serve three to five hours per month:
      • Leading the community’s monthly leadership meeting
      • Attending the monthly AAPS Community Forum
      • Developing programming for the community
    • Have experience posting in the AAPS Communities
    • Review the AAPS Community Chairs Guide (PDF)

    AAPS prefers applicants with:

    • Experience chairing a committee
    • Past volunteer experience in AAPS programming, such as developing a symposium, presenting a poster, submitting an article to AAPS Newsmagazine, leading an Ask the Experts session, etc.
    • A mature network in the scientific community
    • 5+ years in their scientific profession
    • Topical knowledge related to the community’s scope

Submit your application by July 31, 5pm ET.
